science proves why water goes down, that's probably already more than what the bible proves.

on the evolution note, there are many languages dying out, we are becoming more uniformed, we used to be confined to tribes, and knew nothing of a land further than the small villages, and now we are even exploring the deep parts of the ocean.

Religion doesn't have to prove anything, its based on faith. Faith that there is a god, faith in the bible and faith in heaven.

I created this thread to make interesting discussion and to see what everyone's opinions are regarding religion.

Oh and I don't think that the Big Bang Theory is "proven" perse. In my opinion it just makes alot more sense than,

*POOF* WORLD APPEARS! *POOF* PLANTS AND ANIMALS APPEAR! *POOF* MAN APPEARS!

I don't really want to discuss scripture myself, seeing as I believe the Bible to be nothing more that a skewed take on a few thousand years of history.

I think that a lot of people who are very hardcore believers in God, need to perhaps read a few books, expand their horizons, study some philosophy ect and try and shake what they had programmed into their minds during their childhoods.

In fact I think a lot of you will find that as you get older you'll learn more about life and probably move away from these hardcore views. You really want to think? Do Philosophy at University.

Ah, but here's a thing: Maybe, just /maybe/ Science and religion are heading in the same direction, yes? What if, the big bang was God's doing, and the Genesis explanation in the bible was mankind's view of it? I do not deny, that some of the scriptures are hard to believe and seem to be exaggerated, but I place faith in God no matter what. If one day Science had solid proof that God did not exist, I would still have faith in God. It's an ongoing thing, nothing can stop or compete with you and your faith in God.
